Responsible Gambling

If gambling has stopped being entertainment, help is available. These resources are free, confidential, and available to all Irish residents.

Online gambling should be a form of entertainment, not a source of financial stress or personal difficulty. At Dingle Bay Casino Guide, we take this seriously. If you or someone you know is struggling with gambling, the resources below can help.

Recognising Problem Gambling

Signs that gambling may have become problematic:

  • Spending more time or money than you intended
  • Chasing losses — playing more to recover what you've lost
  • Feeling restless or irritable when trying to stop
  • Lying about how much you gamble
  • Borrowing money to fund gambling
  • Neglecting responsibilities because of gambling
  • Using gambling to escape problems or emotions

If you recognise three or more of these patterns, speak with a counsellor. Contact Problem Gambling Ireland for free, confidential support.

Tools for Managing Your Gambling

  • Deposit limits: Set daily, weekly, or monthly deposit caps in your casino account settings before you play. All operators listed on our site support this feature.
  • Session timers: Set alerts that notify you after a specific period of play. Mr Green's Green Gaming tools are particularly well-designed.
  • Self-exclusion: Most casinos offer account-level self-exclusion for 24 hours to permanent. Contact support or use your account settings.
  • Blocking software: Gamban and BetBlocker block gambling sites across all your devices. Both are free.

The Gambling Regulation Bill & Player Protection

Ireland's forthcoming Gambling Regulation Bill will introduce several mandatory player protection measures:

  • Mandatory deposit limits across all licensed operators
  • A national self-exclusion register
  • Restrictions on gambling advertising
  • Enhanced age verification requirements
  • A dedicated Gambling Regulatory Authority with enforcement powers

Until the Bill is enacted, the protections available to you depend on the tools offered by individual operators and the requirements of their licensing jurisdictions (MGA, UKGC, Gibraltar).

If gambling is causing you distress, contact Problem Gambling Ireland or call Gamblers Anonymous at 01 872 1133.
